The E Series is intended to be sold to educational institutes. With that said, it would have one set of configuration only. This is provided to faculty, and students therefore giving everyone on an even playing field. The choice of a 14″ notebook was for space constraints. It would be assumed that each student will have a school desk, and that desk is not going to make a 16″ notebook a convenient machine. Since the 14″ model is chosen, this will allow the student to have a computer out, their reader, and tablet all taking up their desk. The configuration is as below.

The price of the system will be included into the tuition of the school. This will also include the required free for grade school. The system will have a higher end CPU considering the goal will be to make the machine last for 12 years or more. The 32GB memory is sufficient for now, but will be upgradeable to 2×64GB for memory. The main drive will be 512GB which will support the OS, and applications. There will be another 128GB drive for storing the personal files of the user. In addition, there is the required SD card reader, plus a micro-SD card slot within the same tray as the SIM card. The system will support all of the expected connectivity options, plus a 5G cellular capability. This will allow the student to work from anywhere – therefore making them more productive.
The student is responsible for acquiring their own micro-SD card, if they wish to have an extra drive in their system. They are also responsible for providing their cellular service with a cellular service provider. The main method for moving media between computers without using the network will be SD cards. This will be the reason for having access to an SD card.
