The A Series of PDAs will not be too powerful, and instead offer a sufficient option for those that actually see the benefit of a PDA. The PDA can also be used as an exclusive media player, rather than typing the resources of you phone. The A Series PDA will have the following specs:
- 2.5Ghz Dual Core CPU with 6GB of memory
- 128GB storage with micro-SDXC card reader
- 6″ screen with 250ppi display
- 12MP rear + 12MP front cameras
- Wifi-6, NFC, and bluetooth 5 capability
- 1 eSIM for data only
The 2.5Ghz CPU should give the PDA the power it needs to act as the phone’s companion. In addition, the 6GB of memory will provide enough memory for AI applications. This gives the A series PDA an advantage over the phone that only has 4GB of memory. As with all handheld devices, the PDA will have 128GB of integrated storage for OS, and applications, and up to 1TB of storage for content, and media.
The screen is the same specs as the A series phone. This is designed to reduce the various production lines to streamline everything. One screen for all A series handhelds will just make sense. The rear camera will be good for taking pictures, or scanning a QR code for eSIM. The front camera will serve for video chatting if that is something the owner will want to do.
WIfi-6, NFC, and bluetooth capability is all essential for the handheld. Wifi is obviously needed for connectivity. NFC isn’t just for tap to pay readers, but can also use NFC tags to open up applications, or set modes for the PDA. For example, tapping an NFC tag might toggle the bluetooth on and off. This could be good to conserve battery when home, and bluetooth off. A tap of the NFC tag again will turn bluetooth on as you are about to leave.
There is a single eSIM chip in the PDA. Since this is not a phone, there is no requirement for dual SIM, and it wouldn’t make much sense. The eSIM will be intended for data only, and the provider will likely not provide a valid phone number for the designation of the device. This will likely mean a number starting with 0. The A Series PDA will cost $350.
